Robert D. Lavallie, Sr. 69, of Worcester died Friday April 10, 2015 at UMASS Medical Center after a short illness. The youngest and only son of the late Robert L. and Maria Rose “Blanche” (Desharnais) Lavallie, Bob was a graduate of North High School where he played center for the football team. Bob attended Worcester Jr. College and then honorably served as a Staff Sergeant in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. While working over 40 years as an elevator inspector with the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, he retired in 2007 and continued to own and operate Bob Lavallie Construction. Bob was a member of Blessed Sacrament Church and the Worcester Elks Lodge #243. He and his beloved wife of 48 years, Mary T. (Boland) Lavallie, were blessed with 3 children. Bob is survived by his adoring wife and preceded in death by his eldest child, Robert D. Lavallie Jr. He also leaves his two daughters, Julie-Anne Prater and her husband Dean of Henderson, NV and Dawn Hall and her husband Kristopher of San Antonio, TX. Bob was eagerly awaiting the arrival of his first grandchild, a baby girl due to arrive in May that will be adopted by Dawn and Kristopher. After his son’s passing, Bob continued to remain close with his son’s childhood friends: Tom K., Joe, Bob, Tim, Tom C., Mike, and Teddy. They always brought a smile to his face and will eternally hold a special place in Bob’s heart. Bob will be remembered as a kind, strong yet gentle man with an unwavering generosity who loved being surrounded by family.

His funeral will be Wednesday April 15th at O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue with his funeral Mass at 11 a.m. in Blessed Sacrament Church, 555 Pleasant Street.
