Raymond E. Johnson Jr., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on the evening of November 5, 2015, after a lengthy illness. He was born on July 10, 1941, son of the late Raymond Sr. and Josephine Johnson. Ray had many interests, which included raising the Boxer dog breed for many years with his late wife Karen. He was very involved with his church family and loved the lord. Ray loved spending time with his family and friends and had a wonderful sense of humor. One of his favorite things to do was EAT; he was always eating something (however somehow never gained a pound). He loved food and cooking so much that he wrote and published two cook books. Ray above all was so proud to be a grandfather and a great-grandfather. Something you would always hear Ray say “God Bless you” whether he knew you or not. Ray received his BS degree at New England College, Henniker, NH, majoring in business math; and also got his MBA from Northwestern University in Dallas, Texas. Ray worked in education as well as sales for several years. Ray was predeceased by his wife Karen Johnson in 2001. Ray has two daughters, Debbie Humphrey of Manchester, NH and Evangeline Cox of Maine; four granddaughters, Linnea Johnson of Allenstown, NH, Brooke Johnson of Hudson, NH, Amber Allen of Maine and Amanda Davis of Maine; one grandson, Jacob Cox of MA; two great-granddaughters in Maine; a brother-in-law, Robert Bourne of Colebrook, NH; several friends and extended family. Smith & Heald Funeral Home of Milford, NH held private services for the family on November 10, 2015. Ray was laid to rest with his wife at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, MA. In lieu of flowers, expression of sympathy may be made to the Nashua Humane society, Nashua, NH, for Ray was a dog lover.
