Ralph F. Trotto, Jr., 81, of Worcester, passed away on Saturday, May 9, 2015, surrounded by his loving family at Holy Trinity Nursing and Rehabilitation.

Ralph is survived by his loving wife, Ruth M. (Stearns) Trotto; two amazing sons, Stephen L. Trotto and his wife Ann of Spencer, and Darren C. Trotto and his wife Kerry Ann of Worcester; a brother, Michael Trotto and his wife Joanne of Worcester; a sister in law Frances; four grandchildren, Samantha Trotto, Craig Trotto and his wife Chelsea, Carolina Trotto, and Claire Trotto; many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters, Saverio “Sam” Trotto, Leonard Trotto, Angela Renzulli, Laura DeMaria, and Lillian Trotto. Ralph was born in Worcester, son of the late Ralph and Mary (Guerra) Trotto, and has lived here all his life.

He graduated from Worcester Boy’s Trade and enjoyed playing football and baseball for their teams. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the army and served his nation proudly during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a route salesman for nearly forty years, retiring in 1997 from Wonder Bread; having previously worked for Town Talk Bread and was a member of the Teamsters Local 170.

Ralph enjoyed spending time with his family and his 4 grandchildren. He was a member and lector of Saint Joan of Arc Church. He was a youth baseball coach for many different leagues over the years and also served as a long-time coach and Past President for Connie Mack Little League. He was an avid candlepin bowler and bowled in many different leagues, including leagues at Mount Carmel Church, Colonial Lanes in Worcester, and Sawyer’s Bowladrome in Northborough, MA. Ralph also enjoyed playing softball in the Sunday Morning East Park League and the Millbury Jack Benny League. In addition, he would be so proud to mention that he played softball well into his 70’s and was a member of the Worcester Senior Softball League that plays at Worcester State University. Mayor Joe Petty, presented him with a “Key to The City” on his 80th birthday, for his many dedicated years of volunteerism and community activism.

Ralph’s family would like to thank all of the “special angels” at Holy Trinity; their care and compassion to Ralph, his wife and family, will long be remembered and cherished.

Calling Hours for Ralph will be held on Wednesday morning, May 13, from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester, followed by a procession to Saint Joan of Arc Church, 570 Plantation Street, Worcester, where his Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Interment will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Holy Trinity-Staff Gift Fund, 300 Barber Avenue, Worcester, MA 01606.
