Subscription Update Obituary

     Paul K. Lane, 77 of Worcester, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Sunday, February 11, 2018.

Paul is survived by his beloved wife of 14 years, Lorraine C. (Dufault) Lane; a son, Matthew Lane and his wife Stacy of Sterling; four daughters, Theresa Pierce and her husband William of Athol, Christine Zagwyn and her husband David of Ayer, Elizabeth Morreale and her husband John of Lunenburg, and Catherine Coulter of Ayer; eleven grandchildren, two great grandsons, countless nieces and nephews.  He is predeceased by two sons, Paul K. Lane and Maurice E. Lane, III; his brother, Maurice E. Lane, Jr; four sisters, Marguerite Terrio, Rosemary Cooper, Janice Bowers and Catherine Harrold.

Paul was born in Cambridge, MA., a son of the late Maurice E. Sr. and Josephine (MacMillan) Lane.  He graduated from Boston Latin School and later received his associate’s degree in engineering from Northeastern University.  Paul was a mechanical and electrical engineer for Raytheon for 34 years retiring in 1988.  In 1991, Paul was a broker and the owner of Aspen Gold Reality in Colorado until retiring in 1998.

In earlier years Paul loved to bring his family camping, enjoying the outdoors. He was an avid bowler and a lifetime member of the NRA. Paul loved watching the history channel as well as all his New England sports teams. Paul was a dart player with the Montachusett Dart League for several years but his true passion was going out in his boat fishing.  Paul was a faithful member of St. Christopher Church.

Services for Paul will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2018 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10 am in St. Christopher Church, 950 West Boylston St., Worcester.  Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.  A period of calling hours will be held on Friday, February 16th from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St Jude Place, Memphis, TN. 38105.
