Subscription Update Obituary

     Patrick Michael McGraw, 51 of Rutland, passed away peacefully while on vacation in Wells, Maine, with his loving wife and family by his side on Wednesday, July 26, 2017, after courageous three year battle with cancer.

Patrick was born on January 13, 1966 in Worcester, a son of Robert Gerald and Nancy Lee (Devno) McGraw, and lived in Worcester most of his life until moving to Rutland in 2007.  He was a graduate of Worcester Vocational High School, attended American Business & Technology University online and proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy from 1984 thru 1986.  He worked 15 years at O.S. Walker Co, Inc. in Worcester, T.J. Maxx Corporate office for 10 years and most recently at Assumption College.

Patrick was a proud member of the First Congregational Church in Rutland, serving as Church Sexton, Youth Leader for 13 years and Deacon.

He is predeceased by his father, Robert McGraw. He leaves his devoted wife of 10 years, Tami Ellen (Briggs) McGraw; his son, Max William McKee of Rutland; his mother, Kathy Rocheleau and her husband, Francis of Worcester; his step-mother, Beth Hartery of Randolph; two brothers, Brian McGraw and his wife, Maureen,  Mark McGraw and his companion, Marlene Berry, both of Leicester;  his Special Aunt and Uncle, Patricia and Louis Martineau and his cousins Randy and Shawn Martineau all of Fitchburg; his extended family including his wife’s parents, Doug and Ruth Briggs of Rutland; sister-in-law, Jodi Pickett and her husband, John of Holden; brothers-in-law, Timothy Briggs and his wife, Andrea of Holden and Kevin Briggs and his wife, Kelly of Rutland; nieces and nephews, Ryan, Shane, Colin, Alexis, Courtney-Alice, Mark Jr., Kaitlyn, Dillon, Caitlin, Ty, Lilyanna, Chase, Ryan and Jackson; aunts and uncles and the entire McGrath Family as well as his two beloved cats, Sapphire & Rusti.

In Patrick’s words “No matter what battles you may be fighting don’t let anything stop you or hold you back. You are stronger than you think and GOD and faith will be there for you so believe. Love you all, Hugs & smiles until we meet again. Always remember to start each day with a smile, you never know what someone is battling and it just may change their day!!”

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Patrick’s family from 5 to 8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1, in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. The family has requested everyone where their “Pat’s Peeps” or “Pat’s Pitcrew” shirts. A funeral service honoring Patrick’s life will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, August 2, at the First Congregational Church of Rutland, 264 Main St., Rutland, with burial following in Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton.  Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to Sr. High Youth Fellowship at the Rutland Congregational Church or the Rutland Food Pantry, P.O. Box 484, Rutland, MA 01543.
