Nancy E. (Shannon) LaCroix, 73, of Webster died Monday, December 10, 2018 at her home after a long illness.

Her husband of 42 years, Barry P.J. LaCroix, died in 2004.

She leaves three sons, Barry J. LaCroix and his wife Dr. Alice O’Leary of West Newbury, John J. LaCroix of Webster, and Matthew LaCroix and his fiancée Stephanie Ayres of Charlton; a daughter, Jessica Hall and her husband Daniel of Salem; and seven grandchildren, Courtney, Joseph, Addison, Avery, Lance, Jake and Ben. Her daughter Kelly Ann LaCroix died in 1999. Her grandson Phillip LaCroix-DesRoches died in 2014.

Nancy was born in Worcester, daughter of John E. and Alice M. (Hirst) Shannon. She lived in Shrewsbury, Holden and Paxton before moving to Webster.

She was a 1962 graduate of Notre Dame Academy in Worcester.

Nancy was a real estate broker for many years, but spent most of her time as a stay at home mom devoting all her time to her loving children.

In her youth, Nancy was an avid water and snow skier, and enjoyed spending time at Webster Lake with her family and friends.

Nancy was especially close to her granddaughter Courtney who helped care for her in her final years. Her family would also like to thank her personal care attendant Eunice Anane-Asamoah who lived with Nancy and cared for her with skill and compassion.

Calling hours are Sunday, December 16, from 3 to 5 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral Mass will be Monday, December 17, at 10 a.m. in St. Columba’s Church, 18 Richards Ave., Paxton. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
