Melida Louise Benoit, of Spencer, Massachusetts, passed away on Tuesday, July 18 2023 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

She was predeceased by the love of her life Phillip L. Conchado in 1984. Melida is survived by her son Glenn M Conchado along with sister Alice Osterlund of New York and brother Henry Benoit of British Columbia. She also leaves behind grandchildren Sophia and Everett.

Melida worked at Milbrook Distribution and UNFI for many years before her retirement. In post-retirement years she worked as the Innkeeper for the former Red Maple Inn of Spencer, MA. In the final years before her illness got worse, she was a dogsitter for several families and made forever bonds with a few special dogs.

She had many hobbies over the years but most revolved around her love for decorating. She had a wonderful eye for color and truly enjoyed transforming her apartment decor to match the seasons. She also enjoyed Soccer and spent countless weekends watching her son’s soccer games over the years. Later she followed the New England Revolution closely.

Melida will be remembered for her beautiful soul. She was a loving and caring woman who would help any in need. She was a devoted mother who always showed her kindness and compassion. She will be greatly missed by all those whose lives she touched.

A special thanks to the Dowgielewicz family for all the love, care and support over the years of Melida’s illness. A heartfelt thank you also to the staff at Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester for their care in her final days.

Burial at Worcester Cemetery in Paxton, MA will be private
