Subscription Update Obituary

     Mary T. (Yirak) Previe, 90, of Worcester, died peacefully on Fri., 10-7-2016, at Beaumont Nursing Home, Northbridge.

She is survived by her daughters, Mary E. Hough of Buzzards Bay and Lorraine A. Previe of Truro; a son, John J. Previe of Wichita Falls, Texas; three grandchildren, Michelle, Amie, and Kristen; four great grandchildren.

Mary was born in Proctor, VT, the only child of the late Jerome and Elizabeth (Haney) Yirak. She graduated valedictorian of her class at Proctor High School, 1944, where she belonged to the Drama Club and Glee Club. Mary also sang in the choir at St. Dominic’s in Proctor. After graduation, she was an office worker at the Vermont Marble Co., where she met her late husband, Charles R. Previe. In 1948, Mary and Charles moved to MA, where she worked at Chandler’s Dept. Store in Boston. She stayed home with her children for 10 yrs., then waitressed at restaurants in Shrewsbury and Westboro. She volunteered at Fallon Clinic for several years after she retired, as well as at Seabury Heights, where she lived most recently. She was a member of Our Lady of Providence Parish, Worcester. Mary enjoyed the theater, music, and trips to NYC.

A Funeral Mass will be held Thurs., Oct.13, at 12 Noon, in St. Bernard’s Church, 228 Lincoln St., Worcester. There are no calling hours. Interment will be held at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton, at the conclusion of the Mass.

In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Our Lady of Providence Parish, Worcester, MA.
