Subscription Update Obituary

      Mary A. (Sacco) Dorsey, 95, formerly of Meadowbrook Drive in West Boylston, died peacefully on Thursday, July 16, 2015 at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center. Her husband of 55 years, Edward M. Dorsey, died June 26, 1997. She leaves three daughters, M. Elaine Priestley and her husband Richard of The Villages, FL, Betty Lou Lambert and her husband Roger of Worcester, Barbara J. Gardner and her husband John of The Villages, FL; a sister, Carol Spiewak of Charlton; 7 grandchildren, Richard Priestley, Anne Grabauskas, Stephen Priestley, Susan Haffty, Katie LeBlanc, Scott Lambert and Jessica Ray; 13 great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a brother, Michael Sacco, and four sisters, Betty Desimone, Madge Harrington, Nellie Dee and Louise Hassett. She was born in Worcester daughter of the late Gaetano and Maria (Verile) Sacco and attended Worcester Public Schools. She and her husband moved to West Boylston where she lived for over 50 years.

Mary worked as a seamstress for many years. She also worked in retail sales until retiring in 1978. She was a former member of St. Christopher Church where she sang in the church choir for many years. She had also been a member of the Catholic Daughters of the Americas. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed showing and sharing her flowers. She also enjoyed sewing and crocheting. She will be remembered for her beautiful singing voice, her love of animals, her kindness and wonderful sense of humor. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family.

The family would like to express their most sincere appreciation to the staff of the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center for their loving care and support of Mary and her family.

CALLING HOURS will be from 2 to 4 P.M. on SUNDAY, JULY 19 at KELLY FUNERAL HOME, 154 Lincoln St. A FUNERAL MASS will be held at 10:30 A.M. on MONDAY, JULY 20 in the NOTRE DAME du LAC CHAPEL, 555 Plantation St., followed by burial at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, MA.

The family suggests donations in memory of Mary be made to the Notre Dame Long Term Care Center Activities Fund, 559 Plantation St., Worcester, MA 01605.
