Subscription Update Obituary

Mario L. Latuga, 83 of Worcester died peacefully Sunday morning September 4, 2016 with his loved ones around him in the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence. Mario leaves his devoted wife of 54 years Joan M. (Pierce) Latuga, his loving son Robert P. Latuga and his wife Susan of Worcester. Mario was the proud grandfather of Daniel White and his wife Rachel, David White and his wife Katie, Joseph Latuga and his partner Zach Warner, and Anthony Latuga and his Fiancee’ Brianna F. Miller. Mario also leaves his great grandchildren Zoey and Carter White, and a sister Ann Saviano of Natick, nephews and nieces. Mario was predeceased by his dear son Mark J. Latuga on March 1, 2016. He was also predeceased by four Brothers, Joseph, Dino, Enrico, and Naldo Latuga, and a sister Norena Remillard.

Mario grew up in West Boylston son of the late Gino and Maria (Pedini) Latuga and moved to Worcester many years ago to raise his family. He was a graduate of West Boylston High School, and served in the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Mario worked for the Duncan M. Gillies Company as an Engraver for many years before he retired. He was a member of the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary for many years, and also the Greendale Retired Men’s Club. He loved to golf, and Tuesdays and Thursdays were his golf club days with his friends. He really enjoyed being with them. However, his most treasured times were when he was with his wife, children and grand and greatgrandchildren. He will be profoundly missed by his family and friends.

Mario’s funeral will be held on Thursday from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00A.M. in the Church of Our Lady of the Rosary 25 Fales St. Calling hours in the funeral home will be on Wednesday from 4PM to7PM. Interment with military honors will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
