Subscription Update Obituary

     Maria A. (Palumbo) Clem, 57, of Gardner Street, passed away on Sunday, April 2, 2017, at the Rose Monahan Hospice Residence in Worcester, of complications from brain cancer. She was predeceased by her husband of 22 years, David Clem of Oxford who died in 2005. She is survived by two children, Joseph D. Clem and his fiancée Katherine R. Morrissey of Southbridge, and Carolyn A. Clem and her fiancé David Perez of Oxford; two brothers, Anthony Palumbo and his wife Marian of Worcester, and Paul Palumbo and his wife Nanci of Sutton; four step brothers, William, Richard, Mark and Frank Mancini; several nephews, nieces, uncles, and aunts, including her aunt and Godmother, Antoinette Salemmo. She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Orlando and Christine (Salemmo) Palumbo, and lived in Worcester before moving to Oxford in 1990. She graduated from St. Peter-Marian High School and Quinsigamond Community College, both in Worcester.

Mrs. Clem worked at Fairlawn Rehabilitation in Worcester for 11 years. Previously, she worked at the Comfort Inn in Auburn, the Holiday Inn in Auburn, the Chaffee School in Oxford, Electroweave in Worcester, and volunteered at Bay Path R.V.T.H.S. in Charlton. She enjoyed cleaning, going out, traveling, vacationing at Hampton Beach, and most of all loved spending time with her family.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, April 7, 2017, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. Calling hours are Thursday, April 6, 2017, from 5-8 p.m. at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Maria Clem Memorial Fund, c/o Webster Five Cent Savings Bank, 343 Main St., Oxford, MA 01540.
