Subscription Update Obituary

Mara M. (Melkonian) Dix, 65, of Main Street in the Jefferson section of Holden died on December 29 in UMass Memorial Hospital after being stricken ill.
She leaves her husband of 33 years, Gary J. Dix, a son Zachary A. Harvard of Sterling, a daughter Karina C. Levesque of Worcester, a stepdaughter Sarah Dunlevy, a granddaughter Aria Dunlevy, a brother Charles A. Melkonian and his wife Missy of Worcester, a sister Sharistan A. Ardhaldjian and her husband Ivan of Armenia, a niece Nairi Melkonian, a nephew Ardavasd Ardhaldjian, 3 great nephews and a great niece.  She was predeceased by a brother Alec A. Melkonian.
Mara was born in Holyoke daughter of John H. and Alice A. (Shrestinian) Melkonian.  She graduated from Doherty High School and Worcester State College.  She was head of the logistics department at SMC Limited LTD for many years and was looking forward to her retirement.  She loved music, painting, and photography and cooking for family and friends.  She was an avid reader.  She loved to spend time with her family especially at her family cabin in Ticonderoga, New York.
Visitation will be held on Monday, January 8th from 4:00-7:00 PM in Callahan, Fay & Caswell Life Celebration Home, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester.  A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 9 at 11:00 AM in Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, 635 Grove Street, Worcester.  Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.  In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Seven Hills Foundation, 81 Hope Avenue, Worcester, MA 01603 or to the Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church, 635 Grove Street, Worcester, MA 01605.
