Lorraine A. (Langone) Connolly, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Worcester Health Center.  Born and raised in Worcester, Lorraine was the daughter of James and Rose (Anthony) Langone.

After graduating from Commerce High School in Worcester, Lorraine was an administrative assistant for State Mutual Insurance Company for 15 years prior to becoming one of the first Computer Programming Analysts, a position she held from 1962 to 1985.   She was then the bookkeeper for I & T Vending Company, a family business. Together with her husband, she owned several vehicles and operated transportation services to Boston’s Logan Airport.  Some will fondly remember the “Mr. Softie Ice Cream” truck, which she owned with her husband and father, and her delight at giving away ice cream to all the local children.  Lorraine was a member of St. Richard of Chichester Church in Sterling and a former member of St. Mary’s Church in Holden.  In her spare time, Lorraine could often be found knitting, crocheting, sewing, reading and socializing.

She will be affectionately missed and remembered by her daughter, Susan M. Starr and her husband, Timothy of Sterling; two grandsons, Tyler and Matthew Starr of Sterling, two young men who were like grandsons to her, Christopher Wild of Worcester and Mark Wild of Holden and her faithful friend who visited her often, Brandon Paluses of Millbury.  In addition to her parents, Lorraine was predeceased by her husband, Philip F. Connolly and her brother, Anthony Langone.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family from 11:30 from 12:00 on Monday, February 20, at the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden followed by a funeral service at 12:15 p.m. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
