Subscription Update Obituary

     Lila (Sarb) Richards, 91, of Auburn passed away peacefully Monday, November 6th 2017, joining in heaven her love and only daughter, Kim Larson, who passed away in 1996.

Lila was born in Worcester, one of four children of George and Josephine (Lian) Sarb.  Raised in the city, she attended Worcester Public Schools and graduated from Worcester Business Science School.   Shortly after marrying her love William C. Richards, they settled in Auburn where they lived until William passed away in 1999.  Lila continued to live in Auburn until her passing.

She worked many years for various companies;  Her first position was as an administrator with John Hancock Life Insurance, she then accepted a position with Melville Shoe, before becoming a Seminar Coordinator, for Kelly Services after retiring.

Lila is survived, by her grandson, Shane Larson; two stepchildren, William R. Richards of Leominster and Denise Y. Lucas in New Hampshire; nieces and nephews including Karen Martucci and her husband Vincent, and Rudy Mariano; and extended family and friends.   Besides her daughter, Kimberly, a brother, Francis Sarb, two sisters, Evelyn Mariano and Adele Whitley and a niece Darlene Shelden, all predeceased her.

Lila was a member of North American Martyrs Church in Auburn, she loved being with her family, especially her grandson Shane.  Lila, enjoyed the holidays, and the summers she had in New Hampshire.

A period of calling hours will be held Monday, November 13th from 9:00 am to 10:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St before departing in procession to North American Martyrs church, 8 Wyomia Drive Auburn where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am.  Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton
