Subscription Update Obituary

Lawrence R. Tremblay, 85, formerly of Old Southbridge Road, died Sunday, March 26, 2023, at St. Mary’s Healthcare in Worcester.  He was predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Betty A. (Dunlop) Tremblay who died in 2015.  He is survived by his son, Michael J. Tremblay and his wife Jennifer of Sterling; two brothers, Edward Tremblay of Brimfield, and Donald Tremblay of Worcester; a sister, Elaine Bourbeau of Florida; six grandchildren; and several nephews and nieces.  He was predeceased by a son, Steven R. Tremblay who died in 2014; a daughter, Shelly A. Tremblay who died in 2021; two brothers, Julius Tremblay Jr. and Arthur Tremblay; and four sisters, Dorothy St. Armand, Jean Quilliam, Lorraine Charest, and Irene Solonis.  He was born in Worcester, son of the late Julius and Helga Viola (Erickson) Tremblay, and lived most of his life in Oxford.

Mr. Tremblay was a truck driver and foreman at Ken Jones Tire Company in Worcester for 48 years, retiring many years ago.  He enjoyed fishing and trained dogs at the Armory in Worcester.

A Liturgy of the Word service will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 8, 2023, at St. Mary’s Church, 247 Hamilton St., Southbridge.  Those attending are respectfully requested to meet directly at the church.  Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.  Memorial calling hours are Friday, April 7, 2023, from 5-7 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the St. John Paul II Food Pantry, 279 Hamilton St., Southbridge, MA 01550.
