On Monday, August 21, 2023, heaven rejoiced as Joyce T. (Belcher) Latino, 84, journeyed on to be enveloped in the embrace of her Lord and Savior, Yahshua Messiah. Born in the heart of Worcester, she was the cherished daughter of the late Walter H. Belcher, Sr. and Agnes M. (Medalis) Belcher.

Joyce graduated from Commerce High School with the class of 1957. As a testament of her commitment to a life of service, she nobly chose a career in nursing. Joyce earned her LPN from David Hale Fanning and loyally served at Hahnemann Hospital in Worcester until its closure. Her journey in care continued at UMass Memorial Healthcare from where she eventually retired.

Joyce’s lifeblood was her faith and her family. As a devout Christian, she mirrored Christ’s teachings daily. She demonstrated her devotion to her Savior through her generosity, kindness and the many ways she spread God’s love. Whether sending a thoughtful greeting card, gifting a book, or baking for any occasion, her service and upliftment of others was abundant and true to her generous nature. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were her pride and joy and she supported them selflessly and completely. Her home became a safe haven for them, where she would host meals, support the grandchildren’s creative projects and welcome unannounced visits. Joyce brightened the lives of the people around her and her absence will leave an immeasurable void in many hearts.

Joyce was predeceased by her husband of 56 years, Louis R. Latino in 2014. She is survived by her five children Michael J., John T., Sr., Joan M. Perna, Patricia A. Klimaszewski and Kathleen E. Latino; her brother, Steven J. Belcher; sister Carol A. Lambert; nine grandchildren and seven great grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a calling hour from 10 to 11 a.m., followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 25, 2023, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Ave., Paxton. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Dana Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284.
