Subscription Update Obituary

     Joanne Auger, 62, Worcester, passed away peacefully on Tuesday October 27, 2015, after a long illness, with her daughter by her side.

She leaves her daughter and best friend, Kimberly Auger of Holden, her sister Mary Hinsley of Cranston, RI, her brother Robert W. Markowski of Worcester, her close friend Michael Kuszewski of Worcester, her beloved dog Samantha, a niece and three nephews. Her brother Edward P. Markowski passed away earlier this year.

Joanne was born in Worcester, daughter of Marion G. (Taylor) Markowski and Edward L. Markowski.

Joanne graduated from Doherty Memorial High School, David Hale Fanning School of Health Occupations and Worcester Technical Institute. She worked as a surgical technician at Worcester City Hospital for many years before becoming a nurse in 1992.

Joanne lived a lifetime of providing loving care to her family, her friends, and her patients. She will be sadly and deeply missed and will always be remembered by family and friends for her selfless attention to others.

Calling hours will be Monday, November 2nd, from 9 to 11 a.m. at Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The Funeral Mass will follow at 11:30 a.m. at St. Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln St., Worcester. After, Joanne will be laid to rest in the Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
