Subscription Update Obituary

     Joan M. (Merrill) Bouley, 74, of Garrison Heights, died Friday, August 18, 2017, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – University Campus in Worcester; after a long illness. She was predeceased by her husband of 46 years, Arthur L. Bouley of Oxford who died in 2015.  She is survived by two sons, Christopher A. Bouley and David M. Bouley, both of Oxford; her brother, Steven G. Merrill and his wife Diane of Sierra Vista, AZ; two grandchildren, Samantha Bouley and Tyler Bouley, both of Oxford; and several nephews and nieces.  She was born in Stamford, CT, daughter of the late George N. and Mildred J. (Tymula) Merrill, and lived in Oxford for over 40 years.  She graduated from Canton High School in Canton, CT, and Becker College in Worcester.

Mrs. Bouley was the office manager for V.W. Builders for 20 years, retiring in 2015. Previously, she worked with her husband at Bouley Brothers Incorporated.  She was a member of the Founder’s Day Committee, a season ticket holder for the Worcester Ice Cats, and enjoyed crafts, tole painting, and crocheting.  She loved all things nautical – sailboats, lighthouses, and the ocean.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, August 26, 2017, at St. Roch’s Church, 332 Main St., Oxford. Those attending are respectfully requested to meet directly at the church.  Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.  Memorial calling hours are Friday, August 25, 2017, from 6-8 p.m. at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
