     Jo-Ann (Ferguson) Fanion, 68 of the Cherry Valley section of Leicester, formerly Worcester passed away surrounded by loved ones, Tuesday, January 8th, 2019.Born and raised in Worcester, Jo-Ann was one of seven children of George and Ceclia (Pearson) Ferguson.   On November 1st, 1968, Jo-Ann married Earl E. Fanion, Jr and they began their lived together raising their family with love and devotion.

Jo-Ann is survived by her love, Earl; a son, John-Michael Fanion of Cherry Valley;  the apple of her eye, her granddaughter, Gabriela “Gabi” who lovingly called her Mimi;  three brothers, Ronald, Gerald and Richard “Ricky” Ferguson all of Worcester; her mother in law, Catherine (Capuano) Fanion; her cousin who she considered a sister, Mary Hunt of Holden; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.   A son, Earl E. Fanion, III passed away in January of 2005.    Two brothers, James and Robert Ferguson and a sister pre-deceased her.

A stay at home housewife, Jo-Ann cherished the time with her children watching them grow, flourish and accomplish so much.  She loved to cook, care for her home, crafts, knitting, and ceramics.  Holidays, special occasions and anytime her family could be around her were the special times in Jo-Ann’s life.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend calling hours Thursday, January 10th from 4 pm to 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St.  Her funeral service will be held Friday, January 11th at 11:00 am in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.   In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to the Muscular Dystrophy/Mass brain Injury Association, 484 Main Street suite 325, Worcester, Mass 01608.
