Subscription Update Obituary

   James P. Jacques, Sr., of 5 Riedl Place, died Saturday, January 3rd at home, after losing his fight with cancer.

   He was a devoted husband and father. James is survived by his loving family; his wife, Paolina L. (Aureli) Jacques; his son, Lou & Marilyn Jacques of Shrewsbury, daughter Rosemarie Bauckman & John Dicken of Leicester, son John & Denise Jacques of Leicester, and daughter Margaret Westgate of Auburn; his grandchildren, James & Keri Bauckman, Samantha & Eric Ortiz, Matthew, Adam, Jennifer, Jessica Jacques and Chris & Ashley Westgate; his great grandchildren, Isabella & Eric Ortiz, Tyler Jacques and Lucas Bauckman; his sister, Shirley Ellbeg and brother John Desmaris and wife Terri.

   He was born in Worcester, the son of Arthur Jacques & Irene (Marengo) Ashjian. James was a lover of old movies and fishing. He spent 21 years in the United States Air Force and served in Korea. He moved back to Worcester and worked at the College of the Holy Cross and Fallon Clinic on Plantation Street as a security guard. James had a lifelong love of animals.

   The family wishes to thank Tracy Johnson and the other nurses and staff of the VNA Care Hospice for all their kindness and caring.

   The funeral is Tuesday, January 6th with a service at 11:00 A.M. in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour is from 10:00 until 11:00 A.M. Tuesday in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to VNA Care Hospice, 120 Thomas Street, Worcester, MA 01608.
