Subscription Update Obituary

     Jacqueline Dame Lombardi, of Worcester, passed away on, Monday, January 18, 2016 from complications due to Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease.

She was a great woman and a quiet, determined professional. Besides being a loving wife for the past fifty years, to her husband Robert P. Lombardi of Worcester, she was also a mother to her two sons Robert L. Lombardi of Worcester, MA and Dr. John L. Lombardi of Tucson, AZ.

Jacqueline was an educator in both the Grafton and Worcester Public School systems, for many years, as well as was a parishioner at Christ the King Church. Jacqueline also championed for rights of special needs individuals within the Commonwealth and played an early role in its legislation. She enjoyed crossword puzzles, needlecrafts, and operatic music.

She was born a daughter of Joseph A. Dame and Alice Lang Dame on October 9, 1941 and was a lifelong resident of Worcester, Massachusetts. She completed her undergraduate studies earning a B.A in History at Anna Maria College (Paxton, MA) followed by an M. Ed. from Worcester State College (Worcester, MA).

She leaves her extended family including five sisters, Janice Gruber of Redondo Beach, CA, Joyce Giaquinto of Auburn, MA, Cynthia Eaton of Falmouth, MA, Phyllis Moroney of Westboro, MA and Karen Breen of Cotuit, MA as well as several nieces and nephews.

Calling hours for Jacqueline will be held on Wednesday, January 20, from 4p.m. until 6 p.m. at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be held on Thursday, January 21, from the funeral home, departing in procession at 10:30 a.m. to a Mass at 11 a.m. in Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester. Burial services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to My Choice Programs, Inc. 781 Southbridge St. Auburn, MA 01501.
