Subscription Update Obituary

Irene L. (Pion) Mayo, 91, of Charlton and formerly of Leicester, died peacefully, Thursday, April 4th at Overlook Masonic Health Center in Charlton.She leaves her daughter; Sharon L. Corricelli and her husband Robert  of Oxford, her sister; Alice Vandal of Webster, several nieces and nephews.

She is predeceased by her son; Steven Robert Mayo in 2011, her brothers; Leo and Victor Pion and her sisters; Claire McGaugh, Leona Mayo and Doris Mayo.

Irene was a longtime senior secretary/typist for the MA. State Employment Office prior to her retirement. She was born in Grafton, the daughter of Wilbert and Mary (Desmarais) Pion and later graduated from Grafton High School in 1950. She was a communicant of St. Aloysius-St. Jude Parish and was a former member of its Ladies Guild.

Her funeral will be held on Thursday, April 11th. from the MORIN FUNERAL HOME, 1131 Main St., Leicester with a funeral Mass celebrated at 11 a.m. in St. Aloysius-St. Jude Church, 489 Pleasant St., Leicester, burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. A calling hour will precede on Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
