Subscription Update Obituary

     Henry R. “Ray” Holmberg, 89, of Worcester, passed away on Saturday, May 28, 2016, at Care One at Millbury. His loving wife, Dorothy N. (Spills) Holmberg, pre-deceased him in June 2011.

Henry is survived by three sons, Kent M. Holmberg and Keith S. Holmberg, both of Worcester, and Kurt D. Holmberg of Missouri; a sister H. Eleanor Vincelette of West Boylston; nine grandchildren; two great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his loving step-father, Clarence Spillane, a sister, Carol Spillane Price Hebert. Henry was born in Worcester, son of the late, Herman W. and Hildur (Sundberg) Holmberg.

He served his nation proudly in the United States Army, during World War II in the Asiatic-Pacific Theatre. Upon his return to his beloved America, he began working for Morgan Construction, working as a crane and heavy equipment operator. He had belonged to the Wachusett Old Car Club and adored his family.

A graveside service, with Military Honors will be held on Thursday, June 2, at 10 a.m. in the Garden of Faith Section at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. There are no calling hours.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association , 480 Pleasant Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
