Subscription Update Obituary

Hazel R. Hooper, 66, died peacefully on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at UMass Memorial Healthcare – Memorial Campus, Worcester. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of Frederick and Dorothy (Edwards) Robinson, and grew up in Rutland.

Hazel graduated from Wachusett High School. She married her one true love, of 18 years Aubrey W. Hooper and the couple stayed 17 years together in Rutland to raise their family, She lived in Rutland for 37 years and worked serving students in the cafeteria of Mount View Middle School in Holden for several years. Hazel enjoyed the simple things in life and spending time with her family was her greatest joy.

Hazel was predeceased by her beloved husband, Aubrey W. Hooper in 2002. She is survived by her son, Joshua Hooper of Barre; her daughter, Cheryl Robinson and her husband, Dan of Rutland; a stepdaughter Patricia Bennett of Noth Brookfield; her Sister, Carol Pearson of Rutland; her granddaughters, Dorothy, MacKenzie, Faith, Abigail Robinson of Rutland; and her great-granddaughter, Kallyanna Robinson.

A Memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 3, 2022, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richard’s Ave., Paxton. Arrangements are under the care of Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden.
