Subscription Update Obituary

     Gloria Y. (Melanson) Richardson, 88 died peacefully at home on Wednesday, October 28, 2015, with her cherished family by her bedside. She was born in Worcester, a daughter of the late Joseph and Edna (Arsenault) Melanson. Her husband of 40 years, Harold H. Richardson died in 1983.

Gloria graduated from North High School in Worcester. She worked as a bookkeeper for the former Coach and Six Restaurant in Worcester and then worked as an aide at Burncoat Grammar School. Most recently she worked as the secretary for the CCD program at Saint George’s Parish in Worcester before retiring. Gloria was a longtime member of Saint George’s Parish and it’s Women’s Guild. She enjoyed playing cards, watching Boston Red Sox games, and going to casinos. Her greatest joy and happiness was found spending her time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Gloria will be deeply missed by her four children, Robert J. Richardson and his wife, Cathy of West Boylston, Steven M. Richardson and his wife, Kathy of Holden, Gary G. Richardson and his wife, Debbie of Worcester and Donna L. Richardson, with whom she lived; her six grandchildren, Robert and Brian Richardson, Kellie Ford, Kara Salvani, Kyle Richardson and Sarah Richardson; her seven great grandchildren, Max and Jack Ford, Cameron and Lauren Richardson, Liam and Maddox Salvani and Jayden Richardson; as well as several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Lillian Lombard.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial on Wednesday, November 4, at 10:00 a.m. at Saint George’s Church, 38 Brattle Street, Worcester, Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. There are no visiting hours. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be sent to Saint George’s Parish, 40 Brattle Street, Worcester, MA 01606. Arrangements are under the care of the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street, Holden.
