Gloria J. (Clark) Turner, 66, of Shrewsbury, died suddenly Sunday December 30, 2018 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Worcester and raised in West Boylston, daughter of Langdon S. Clark and Marion J. (Nichols) Clark. She graduated from West Boylston High School and later continued her education at Fisher College and received an Associate’s degree in Accounting.

Gloria met her future husband, James R. Turner on a blind date and married in 1974. They built a home in the town they so loved, Shrewsbury and lovingly raised their two daughters. Gloria had worked a majority of her career as an accountant before retiring in 2016.

When not working or caring for her grandchildren Gloria enjoyed camping with family and friends, cross stitch, crocheting, woodworking, and she became the ultimate crafter and “collector of things”. She also volunteered her time as the Mother Advisor to the Bancroft Assembly of the IORG and crocheting blankets and hats for Project Linus and hats and mittens for Veterans.

Gloria leaves her husband of 44 years, James R. Turner, two daughters, Wendy A. Turner and her fiancée Michael White and Lori B. Turner all of Shrewsbury; four grandchildren, James D. Turner, Alexandrea, Charlotte and Jacob Moura all of Shrewsbury; her mother, Marion J. (Nichols) Clark of Westborough; a brother, Donald Clark and his wife Jeanine of Florida; two sisters, Beverly Pryor and her husband Roger of Michigan and Jennifer Clark and her significant other Justin of Maine and a nephew, James Pryor and his wife Deva of Georgia. Besides her father, she was predeceased by a nephew, Donny Clark and a son-in-law, Jose Moura Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Gloria’s family on Friday January 4, 2019 from 5-8 pm in the BRITTON-SHREWSBURY FUNERAL HOME, 648 Main Street, Shrewsbury. Her funeral will be celebrated on Saturday January 5, 2019 at 10 am in the funeral home followed by burial in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial contributions may be made to: HMEA’s Autism Resource Central 712 Plantation Street Worcester, MA 01605.
