George “Mickey” Mikitarian, Sr., 79 of Auburn passed away Wednesday, October 21 at St. Vincent Hospital.

George leaves his loving family to join his soulmate and love of his life for 59 wedded years, Helen M. (Garabedian) Mikitarian who passed away last year. George proudly showed their junior and senior prom pictures to all their friends and acquaintances. He leaves the four children that they were so proud of, George Mikitarian, Jr., his wife Liz and their son, George “Mickey” Mikitarian, III all of Titusville, FL, Michael G. Mikitarian and his fiancé, Elaine Corrieri of Shrewsbury, John H. Mikitarian and wife Celeste of Northborough, and their sons, Joseph, David and Benjamin, and daughter Irene M. Mikitarian of Worcester, and her daughters Courtney Sage and Nicole Sage Carpenter; a sister in law, RoseMarie Mikitarian; sisters, Gloria Tomaso and Alice Germagian and many nieces and nephews. His three brothers, Rubin, Simon and Mourad “Rudy” Mikitarian predeceased him.

Mickey worked for Patten’s Plumbing and Heating for over 30 years. He was a licensed plumber in the states of MA, CT AND NH where he was a manager and supervisor of high rise buildings, nursing homes and shopping malls. He was an avid deer hunter in Western Massachusetts for 40 years. He enjoyed winters in Florida for the past 30 years with convenient access to the ocean where he would enjoy surfcasting on a daily basis.

In his last months he fulfilled many bucket list items with his children. His favorite became a weekly visit to the casino with his favorite Chinese food dinner as a treat. His final year without the love of his life was a difficult one but he gave everything he had to give his children one more year of memories. He was a simple man, a great man that will truly never be forgotten. He will be sadly missed at the Broadway Restaurant where he had his own stool and was a regular.

The funeral will be held on Monday, October 26 from CALLAHAN~FAY & CASWELL FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle Street, Worcester with a Service at 11:00 am in Armenian Church of Our Saviour, 87 Salisbury Street, Worcester.
