Subscription Update Obituary

Frances ‘Fran’ J. Darling, 79, passed away Thursday, June 18, 2020, at Good Samaritan Perkins Pavilion in Hastings, Nebraska.

Fran was born in Worcester, Massachusetts in 1940, the daughter of Lionel J. and Gabrielle (Roberts) Baril. She graduated from St. Stephen’s Catholic High School in Worcester, Massachusetts. She was a member of St. Joseph’s, and Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Churches in Worcester, Massachusetts for many years. Fran married Rex Darling in 1963, in Worcester, Massachusetts. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother.

Fran is survived by her husband of 56 years, Rex Darling of Hastings, NE; children, Christine (John) Souza of Hollis, NH, Sandra (Victor) Etre of Worcester, MA, and Scott (Patricia Landry) Darling of Gardner, MA; step-children, Kevin Darling, and Kelvin Darling both of Grand Island, NE, and Korena (Don) Hoshaw of Hastings, NE; fourteen grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and brother, Theodore ‘Paul’ (Gloria) Baril of Grafton, MA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lionel J. and Gabrielle Baril; step-daughter, Kathy Nielsen; grandson, Austin Nielsen; sister, Jacqueline Baril; and brothers, John Baril and Lionel F. Baril.

Services will be held at a later date. There will be no viewing or visitation.
