Evelyn Manoogian Phelan transitioned after her 98th birthday. Evelyn was born in Worcester, daughter of Zabel Manoogian Krikorian and Nishan Manoogian. She lived most of her life in Holden with her beloved husband, John “Patrical” Phelan and at their summer home on Cape Cod. Evelyn worked for the Worcester Public Schools for 39 years as a primary school teacher. She and her family enjoyed 25 summers spent on Nantucket. Evelyn and John traveled the world with their best friends, Bill and Marjorie Laine. They were frequent travelers on the Cunard Line visiting Malaga, Milan and many other ports of call. Evelyn’s belief in life was to “see and do”.

Evelyn enjoyed simple pleasures; Nelson Eddy songs, Metropolitan Opera and historical fiction. She had a fantastic vocabulary and was quite knowledgeable of British history. Evelyn was a passionate baker and lived to eat. Her stature was small but her heart and soul were big. She leaves her daughters, Elizabeth and Ann; her niece, Chris Shustak, her son-in-law, Brian Biswas; Ann’s partner, Seth Dinoi and her grandchildren, Eliza Biswas, Mark Biswas, and Marguerite Wynter.
