Subscription Update Obituary

     Elaine E. (Poirier) Rushford 92, of Howe Village, died Saturday, Oct. 1, 2016 in UMASS Memorial-55 Lake Ave., Worcester.

She was the wife of Arnold H. Rushford who died in 1979. She leaves her son Dwayne E. Rushford of Leicester, her daughters Bonnie Jean Comeau and her husband George of Spencer and Cheryl E. Felton of Oxford, a brother James Poirier of Montgomery Center, VT., 10 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and 6 great great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two sons Gary Rushford in 1994 and Bruce Rushford in 1970, a brother Joseph Poirier, a sister Anita Hammond, and grandchildren Brian Comeau, Noah Rushford and D.J. Felton.

Born in East Berkshire, VT., she was the daughter of James and Caroline (Colton) Poirier and lived in E. Brookfield before moving here in 1984.

She was a member of Mary, Queen of the Rosary Parish, and the Lashaway Senior Citizens Club. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting and word puzzles. She was a “nanny” to many children in the area.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, Oct. 7 from the J.HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10 a.m. in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Thursday, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Overlook V.N.A. 88 Masonic Home Rd., Charlton, Ma. 01507.
