Edward A. Nichols, Sr, 83, passed away Friday, August 11th at Webster Manor in Webster, MA.

Ed’s wife, Claire H. (Moulson) Nichols passed away in 2016. He leaves four children, Debra A. Soderman of Douglas, Edward A. Nichols Jr. and his wife, Debbie of Highgate, VT, Dwayne E. Nichols of Sutton and Donald J. Nichols and his wife, Allison of Virginia; six grandchildren; one great grandson; a brother, George A. Nichols; many nieces and nephews as well as his beloved Boston Terrier, Bruno. He is predeceased by two brothers and four sisters.

Ed worked for many years as a heavy equipment operator and tractor trailer driver. In his spare time, he enjoyed wood working, reading his western novels, listening to country music (especially on Sunday mornings for the classics) and watching sports and western movies on television. Ed loved going out to eat; his favorite restaurant was Monty’s Diner in Burrillville, RI. Ed and his wife, Claire, also loved to travel and camp both together and with friends and family. He had a wonderful sense of humor and loved to make people smile wherever he went.

His Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, August 17th in St. Mark’s Church, 356 Boston Rd in Sutton. Burial will be at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
