Subscription Update Obituary

Dorothy (Horne) Gove, 92, died peacefully on February 19, 2024, at Homestead Hall in Worcester.

Born in Worcester, Dorothy was raised in Jefferson, the daughter of Andrew and Dorothy (Lehman) Horne.

Dorothy was a member of the First Congregational Church of Rutland and volunteered at the Corner Shop of the First Congregational Church of Holden. She was a dedicated member of the Rutland Historical Society. She also enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers and vegetables, and feeding the birds in her yard.

Dorothy will be lovingly missed and remembered by her son, Charles “Chuck” A. Gove and his wife, Monica of Rutland; her son-in-law, Vincent Cerrato of Florida; her cherished grandchildren, Ashley Gove of Worcester, Brendan Gove and his wife, Brittney of Shrewsbury, Robert Cerrato and his wife, Christina of Florida, and Melinda “Mindy” Cerrato of Florida; her great-grandchildren, Shanice Cerrato, and Callie, Rhett and Reece Cerrato; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, Charles J. Gove in 2011, her daughter, Bonnie Jean Cerrato, her brother, Donald Horne, and her sister, Janet A. Barakian and her brother-in-law, Richard Barakian.

Chuck and Monica would like to express their sincere appreciation to the staff at Homestead Hall for the loving care Dorrie received.

Family and friends will gather for Calling Hours from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon on Monday, February 26th at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main Street Holden, with a Funeral Service following at 12:00 noon. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, 217 Richards Avenue, Paxton.
