Subscription Update Obituary

     Doris M. (Lapierre) Higgins Wesolowski, 92, beloved Auburn resident, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, February 13, 2021 at UMASS Medical Center – University Campus.

Born and raised in Worcester, Doris was one of six children born to the late Joseph A. Lapierre and Helen Victoria Corabell (St. George) Lapierre. Along with her parents, she was predeceased by her first husband, John F. Higgins, in 1981, her second husband, Ernest J. Wesolowski, in 2016, and her siblings: Joseph, Helen, and Robert.

Doris is survived by her loving children: Thomas J. Higgins and his wife Kathleen, of Auburn, Cathy A. Ceccarelli and her husband Paul, of South Carolina, Diane M. Gray and her husband Frank, of Centerville, and Rita Wesolowski and her husband Michael Kirkpatrick, of Plum Island; nine grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; two siblings, Frances LaJeunesse, of Berlin, and Paul Lapierre, of Shrewsbury; and many nieces, nephews, and friends within the Auburn community.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, 13770 Noel Road, Suite 801889, Dallas, TX 75380 (www.komen.org).

Due to the ongoing pandemic and government regulations, Doris’ funeral Mass and burial will be held privately for her family. She will be laid to rest in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton, alongside her first husband, John. The Britton-Wallace Funeral Home, 91 Central Street, Auburn, is honored to be assisting with arrangements.
