Subscription Update Obituary

Diane M. (Vayo) Hagan, 73, of Worcester, died on Wednesday, November 15th in the Jewish Healthcare Center. She is survived by her daughter Heather Ferguson & her husband Brian of Rutland; three sisters, Betty Owens of Auburn, Judy Wheelden of Hyannis and Sharon Williams & her husband David of Garland, TX; three grandchildren, Connor, Nathan and Charlotte; her nephew Patrick Owens & his wife Cathy and niece Michelle Owens. She was predeceased by her former husband Richard G. Hagan, brother-in-law Mike Owens and nephew Chris Wheelden.

Diane was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Charles & Mildred (O’Donnell) Vayo; and had worked as an elementary teacher in different school districts. She was a graduate of the then Worcester State College and was an accomplished organist. Diane enjoyed summering at Cape Cod with her family, the outdoors, music, and happy hours.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks to the 3rd floor staff of the Jewish Healthcare Center, especially to Tom, Mylin, Marg, Lori, and Tatyana & to the JHC Hospice Team, particularly Jennifer, Christie and AnneMarie for the wonderful care and support provided to Diane.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, November 24th in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a service at noon in the funeral home. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours on Friday are from 10:00am until the time of the service in the funeral home.
