Subscription Update Obituary

WORCESTER – Deborah M. Burdett, 58, of Delawanda Drive, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014, at UMass Memorial Medical Center – Memorial Campus, surrounded by her loving family. She is survived by her husband of 40 years, John F. Barrett of Worcester; her brother, Bruce E. Burdett of Oxford; her nephew, Jason E. Burdett and his wife Jill of Oxford; and two great nieces, Taylor and Natalie Burdett. She was born in Worcester, the daughter of the late Leon and Patricia (Cerasolie) Burdett, and lived in Spencer before moving to Worcester 40 years ago. She graduated from David Prouty High School in Spencer. Mrs. Burdett worked at Verizon for 35 years, retiring as a manager in 2008. She attended Holy Rosary Church in Spencer and loved animals. She will be remembered as a very spiritual person who loved animals, and frequently donated to St. Jude Children’s Hospital and the M.S.P.C.A – Angell charities. Calling hours are Friday, January 24, 2014, from 9:00 a.m. – 10:30 a.m., at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home at the conclusion of the calling hours. Burial will be private at a later date at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Clara Barton Camp for Children with Diabetes, P.O. Box 356, North Oxford, MA 01537.
