Subscription Update Obituary

David W. Kilgar, 63, of Worcester, died Saturday, February 3, 2024 at UMass Memorial – University Campus after an illness.

He leaves a sister, Anita St. Laurent and her husband Ronald St. Laurent of Worcester, a brother, Christopher Kilgar and his wife Christine Kilgar of Worcester, nieces and nephews.  His father, Weldon Kilgar, with whom he lived for many years, predeceased him.  He was also predeceased by his mother, Avery E. (Foss) Laprade, and a sister, Judith Kilgar-Ng.

David was born in Worcester on June 1, 1960.  He graduated from South High School in 1981 at the age of 21 and attended Seven Hills program on Hope Ave.  His most recent residence was 26 Granite Street Shared Living by Seven Hills Foundation with Zokieyah.  He worked at various job placements through Seven Hills Foundation, including Stop and Shop, the kitchen at Seven Hills, Rutland State Park, Big Y, Aspire, and other locations.  He loved and enjoyed camping, being involved with the Special Olympics for many years, many Seven Hills Foundation programs, and bowling. He was an avid dancer in his earlier days and traveled a lot.

DUE TO THE STORM ON TUESDAY, the graveside service HAS BEEN RESCHEDULED TO THURSDAY, FEBRUARY 15, 2024 at 10:00 am at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton, section Garden of Remembrance.  Memorial donations may be made to the Special Olympics Massachusetts (https://www.specialolympicsma.org/ways-to-give/donate).
