Subscription Update Obituary

Dale A. Narva passed away peacefully at home on Friday, August 11, 2023. He was 72. Born in Worcester, Dale was the son of Edwin E. and Lily H. (Lyra) Narva and lived in Rutland his entire life.

Dale was a graduate of Wachusett Regional High School, class of 1969. He worked in the automotive industry for over 40 years as a salesman in the parts department at Ragsdale Chevrolet, Luddy Chevrolet, and Sunnyside Motors in Holden before retiring in 2021.

His hobbies included making and collecting model cars, golf, and had a deep appreciation for vintage vans. His mantra was “Peace, Love & Happiness.” Dale was free spirited and was known for his kind and gentle nature.

He is survived by his two sons, Christopher D. Narva and his long-time companion and dear friend, Meaghan Eaton of Rutland, and Jason M. Narva and his long-time companion and dear friend, Diana Balvin of Worcester; his former wife and lifetime good friend, Deborah (Vasolowsky) Messier of Gardner; a granddaughter, Hailey Narva who he lovingly adored and referred to as “His Sunshine;” and long-time good friends, Mike, Tim, TJ, Adam, and Jay. Besides his parents, Dale is predeceased by a brother, Kern E. Narva, Sr., and two sisters, Carolyn Glancy, and Diane Tourigny.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Dale’s family from 5 to 8 on Wednesday, August 16, at Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. A graveside service will be held privately at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, 450 Brookline Ave., Boston, MA 02215.
