Subscription Update Obituary

     Cindy Lee Vassar, 41, of Clinton passed away at home on Wednesday, January 4, 2017.

She was born on May 23, 1975 in Worcester, a daughter of Carol A. (Jubinville) and Eugene J. Vassar, and lived in Jefferson before moving to Clinton in 2005. Cindy attended Wachusett Regional High School and Quinsigamond Community College where she was working on her degree in counseling. In the past she worked as a machine operator at Sterling Manufacturing, where she met her fiancé, Jose. She was also employed as a home health aide for several disabled clients, a job that she found to be very rewarding.

Cindy was very artistic creating arts and crafts for family and friends. She loved to cook and write poetry. Known for her big heart, she was always helping others and still maintained friendships with her high school friends. She enjoyed spending time with her niece and nephews.

She leaves her mother, Carol of Jefferson; a fiancé with whom she lived, Jose A. Cruz of Clinton; two sisters, Ann-Marie Metcalfe of Jefferson and Michele L. Flanagan of Charlton; two nephews, William Metcalfe and Andrew Flanagan, and a niece, Kacey Flanagan. Her dog, Myla which was a great source of joy for her. She also leaves several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Family and friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:30 a.m. until 12 noon on Thursday, January 12, follows by a Memorial Service at noon in the Miles Funeral Home, 1158 Main St., Holden. Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Donations in lieu of flowers may be made to the Sterling Animal Shelter, 17 Laurelwood Road, Sterling, MA 01564. The family would like to thank Dr. Hugh Silk, Dr. Julianne Miller, Kathy and all the staff of the Lipton Center and the staff of Clinton Hospital for all their care.
