Chester J. “Chuck” Mitchell,74, of Ware, passed away Monday, Jan. 30th in Hartford Hospital, Hartford after a brief illness.

He leaves his wife of 52 years, Janice L. (Williams) Mitchell, his son; James J. Mitchell and his wife Kimberly of Odessa, FL., his daughter; Kimbely A. Mitchell of Goffstown, NH., a brother; Walter Marszalek of Jacksonville, FL., 4 grandchildren; Lexi Cote, Rylan Bedard, Zachary and Mackenzie Mitchell and many beloved cousins, nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by a brother John Mitchell in 2019 and a sister Elizabeth Gildert in 2014.

Chuck worked at Zero Corporation in Monson, MA from 1973 through 1993, and ended his career as a longtime tool & die maker at Inner-Tite Corp. in Holden, retiring in 2014.

He was born in Worcester, the son of Walter and Catherine (Nivara) Mitchell and later graduated from David Prouty High School Class of 1966 in Spencer. He enjoyed freshwater fishing and ice fishing.

A funeral service for Chester will be held Friday, February 17 at 11 A.M. in the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer. A calling period will be held from 9:30 A.M. to 11 A.M. prior to the funeral service. Burial will follow the service in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Spencer Fish and Game Club, 155 Mechanic St. Spencer, MA 01562.
