Charles J. “Chuck” Goodrow, Jr., 80, a longtime Shrewsbury resident died Monday, October 1, 2012 in his home with his loving family at his side. Charles was born and raised in Worcester, a son of the late Charles J. Goodrow, Sr and Mary (White) Goodrow. He attended the Worcester Schools. He married the love of his life, Eva Lipkavich on February 11, 1956. Together, they made their home in Worcester for many years before moving to Shrewsbury 15 years ago.
Family was very important to Chuck. Besides his beloved wife, Eva of 56 years, he leaves a son, Kenneth Goodrow and his wife, Charlene of Whitinsville; two beautiful grandchildren, Mary and Alexander, whom he loved so much; a sister, Marilyn Sturgis, of Worcester; and many nieces and nephews. Chuck was predeceased by a sister, Dorothy (Goodrow) Buxton.
Chuck worked for B.F. Marsh in Worcester as a salesman. In 1950, he proudly entered the United States Marine Corp as a fifth generation Marine. After serving his country with the United Stated Marine Corp in 1952, Chuck returned to work as a machinist until his retirement. Photography was a great passion of Chuck’s. He enjoyed taking long scenic drives which allowed him the opportunity to take many memorable photos. Chuck also was an avid Patriots fan.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Mr. Goodrow’s family on Thursday, October 4, 2012 from 4-7 PM in the Britton-Shrewsbury Funeral Home, 648 Main St., Shrewsbury.
