Subscription Update Obituary

     Catherine M. Shea Pratt, 70, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 12, 2018 in her home.

Catherine was born in Worcester on August 27, 1947 a daughter of the late George P. and Margaret Powers and was raised in the Grafton Hill section of the city.

She was a graduate of Commerce High School and went on to work for over 24 years at UMass Memorial Hospital where she retired from the medical records department. Catherine was an amazing mother, grandmother and friend. She was a devout Christian who dedicated much of her time to the church helping others. Her pride and joy was her 14 grandchildren. She enjoyed going for walks with her family at the West Boylston Rail Trail. She had a talent for making crafts and loved to decorate. Above all, Catherine was a selfless woman who loved nothing more than being a Mom and a Nani.

She will be forever loved and missed by her children, Bobby Shea and Timmy Shea, both of West Boylston, Tom Shea and his wife, Angela of Rochdale, Mary Shea of Worcester and Christopher Shea and his wife, Georgianna of Sturbridge; fourteen grandchildren; a sister, Maureen Thrain of Millbury; a brother, Patrick Powers of Tennessee; several nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family members.

Family and friends are welcome to attend her Life Celebration Visitation on Thursday, April 19th from 4:00pm until 7:00pm at Fay Brothers Funeral Home, 1 West Boylston St., West Boylston. A prayer service will be offered following her visitation. Burial will be held privately.
