Subscription Update Obituary

 Carolyn Ann (Babbitt) (Dickinson) Ide  , 88, formerly of Chestnut Hill Road, died Tuesday, January 31, 2017, in Aurora, Colorado. She was predeceased by her first husband, Sidney R. Dickinson Jr. who died in 1978; and her second husband, David M. Ide who died in 1999.  She is survived by two children, Brian K. Dickinson and his wife Debbie of Aurora, CO, and Brenda C. Benoit of Leicester; two granddaughters, Alysha and Breanna Benoit, and one grandson, Curtis Butler; and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.  She was predeceased by her son-in-law, Alfred Benoit of Leicester.  She was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Kenneth A. and Anna E. (Polson) Babbitt, and previously lived in Worcester and Shrewsbury.  She graduated from Commerce High School in Worcester in 1947.

Mrs. Ide was a sales associate for Fotomat Corp. for 9 years, retiring in 1989. Previously, she worked at Phalo Plastics in Shrewsbury, Worcester Gas Light in Worcester, Sheppard Envelope Company in Worcester, and Worcester Mutual Life Insurance Company.  She was a member of the First Baptist Church in North Oxford.  Mrs. Ide was a retired secretary of the Gems League, a former Campfire Girls leader, and was an avid bowler who enjoyed bowling at the Auburn Ten Pin.

The family would like to thank the Evers, Richmond, and Richards families from the Chestnut Hill neighborhood, for the exceptional care shown to Carolyn, which gave her the opportunity to stay in her own home.

A service for the Dickenson family will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at Paradis-Givner Funeral Home, 357 Main St., Oxford. A service for the Benoit family will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2017, at the funeral home.  There are no calling hours.  Burial will be private at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 577, North Oxford, MA 01537.
