Caroline “Carrie” (Caputo) Paldino, 90, of Worcester, died peacefully Saturday, September 30, 2017 in the Rose Monahan Hospice Home surrounded by loved ones.  Her husband of 65 years, Peter P. Paldino, died May 2, 2014. Caroline is survived by her four sons, Patrick J. Paldino and his wife Shirley of Montgomery Center, VT, Peter A. Paldino and his wife Paula, Paul R. Paldino and his wife Lisa all of Worcester, and David M. Paldino and his wife Lorie of Overland Park, Kansas. Carrie was also the proud grandmother to Patrick, Peter, Paul, Nicholas, Joseph, Christina, Melissa, Michael, Britta, Krissy, Tara, Luke, Kurt and Mario. Carrie leaves 12 great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and several sister and brother-in-laws, among them Michelina “Mickey” Caputo, whom she thought of as her own sister. Carrie was predeceased by all her siblings, Louis, John, James, Ted, Joseph, Gaetano and Ann Caputo, and Rose Giaquinto.

Carrie was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Raphael and Rachel (Mocca) Caputo and lived there all her life. She was a graduate of Classical High School and attended Worcester State College. Carrie was a teacher’s aide in the Worcester Public Schools for many years before she retired. Carrie was a lifetime member of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann and was an active member of their Golden Years Club. She enjoyed playing bingo and loved spending the winters in Lighthouse Point, Florida with Peter. True to her Italian heritage, she loved to cook and was most happy when she was with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister who will be terribly missed by her family and friends.

Carrie’s family would like to extend a special thank you to Lydia Yawson, who took care of Caroline as if she were her own mother, and also to Edith Witherell for her constant companionship and Friday afternoon visits that always brightened her day. They will always be remembered.

Caroline’s funeral will be held on Friday, October 6, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Loreto 33 Massasoit Rd. Visiting hours with the family will be held on Thursday, October 5, from 4PM to 7PM in the funeral home. Interment with her husband Peter will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to VNA Care, designating Rose Monahan Hospice Home as the recipient.
