Carmita A. (Prepetit) Telemaque, 97, of Worcester, died Tuesday, November 1, 2022 at home surrounded by her loved ones in song and prayer.

She joins her husband of 48 years, Joseph L. Telemaque, who died in 1999. She leaves three sons, Philippe Telemaque and his wife Joanne of Brimfield, Robert Telemaque and his wife Veronica of Arizona, Pierre R. Telemaque and his wife Marie of Worcester; a daughter, Dr. Marie J. Charles and her husband Paul of Fairfax Station, VA; three daughters-in-law, Stephanie, Anne and Carmen Telemaque; twelve grandchildren, Tanya, Natasha, and Eric Telemaque, Enrico Telemaque and Jessica Telemaque (and spouse), Béatrice and Bernard Charles, Jean-Pierre Telemaque (and spouse) and Jocelyne Telemaque, Anthony Joseph Telemaque (and spouse) and Jasmine Telemaque, Isabella Telemaque; great-grandson, Jackson McCracken and great- granddaughter Rylee Telemaque; a step great-grandson, Liam Thulin; many nieces and nephews. Her special daughter Myrtha Joseph of Florida. She also leaves her caretakers Yvonne Hart and Lattie Watters, and all her friends from Summit Eldercare. Carmita was predeceased by her sons Eddy, Reginald, and Alain Telemaque; and three brothers, Joseph, Vital and Jean-Marie, and their spouses. She was born in Jeremie, Haiti, daughter of Georges and Celina (Titus) Prepetit. She came to the United States in 1970, settling in Worcester.

Carmita had a college degree from Ecole Elie Dubois and was quite an accomplished self-employed seamstress and embroiderer.

She enjoyed singing, dancing, church services, cooking and baking for her kids and grandkids until well into her 90s. Her many talents included making clothes for her children using bought patterns, she was a trained home economics teacher, a schoolteacher, a master chef, and a CNA. If you were to ask any of her grandkids her best talent was loudest cheerleader whether it was soccer, baseball, hockey, or dance (perhaps not the best place to be loudest). These many praises, accolades, awards, and recognitions are only the tip of the iceberg for this beautiful soul. All that had met her had praised her and she left an impact on every one of their lives. Her passing on All Saints day has cemented the belief that she was indeed a Saint.

Calling hours are Sunday, November 6, 2022 from 4:00 – 6:00 pm at Rice Funeral Home, 300 Park Ave. A funeral Mass will be on Monday, November 7 at 9:30 am at Christ the King Church, 1052 Pleasant St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.
