Carmine J. Plumley, 80, died Saturday, September 23 at UMASS Hospital Lake Ave. in Worcester.He leaves two brothers, Rollo A. Plumley and his wife Eloise of East Berlin, CT., Edward U. Plumley and his wife Paula of Holden, four sisters; Jean F. Letendre and her husband Gerald of East Berlin, CT., Flora M. Ayotte of Spencer, Barbara A. Sandagato and her husband Joseph of Spencer, Sheila M. Poulin and her husband Phil of Leicester and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sisters, Rita May and Charlotte Plumley.

Born in Spencer, he was the son of Cleo & Julia (Petraglia) Plumley. Carmine graduated from Worcester Boys Trade and proudly served his country in the US Navy. He worked at the former Jamesbury Company in Worcester for over 35 years as a tool and die maker, retiring in 2007. He was a member of St. John the Baptist Church in East Brookfield.

Carmine loved and adored spending time with his family. He loved playing golf, snow skiing, fishing and hunting. He truly enjoyed outdoor sports. He was a phenomenal baseball player in his day as well as a coach, in which he coached for the Spencer Babe Ruth League.

The Funeral will be held Wednesday, September 27 from the J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer, with a Mass at 10 A.M. in St. John the Baptist Church, 131 Blaine Ave., East Brookfield. A calling hour will precede the Mass from 8:30-9:30 A.M. in the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be at a later date in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton and at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be in his name to St. John the Baptist Church, 131 Blaine Ave., East Brookfield, MA 01515 or to the American Heart Association, 300 5th Ave., Waltham, MA., 02451.
