Subscription Update Obituary

Barbara R. Brown, 44, of Worcester, unexpectedly passed away in the comfort of her home on Sunday, August 22, 2021.

Barbara is survived by her loving family, including her daughter, Makia L. Thompson Brown; her parents, George and Norma Jean (Pickens) Brown; a sister, Juanita A. Brown; a brother, George E. Brown, Jr.; four nephews, Malaki, Hezaki, George, and Kai; her dear cousins; Alicia, Nathan and Lisa Pickens; her many uncles, aunts, cousins, friends and her dear friend, Norma and her daughter Amy, all of Worcester. Barbara was born in Worcester and has lived here all her life. She graduated from Doherty High School and attended Quinsigamond Community College.

Barbara has been a chef for SnapChef, a food provider for local colleges and large organizations. She had previously spent many years as a daycare provider with the YWCA and First Friends. She was a member of Mount Sinai Church of God in Christ. She enjoyed cooking, dancing and reality television.

Her Calling Hours and Funeral will be on Tuesday morning, August 31 at Mount Sinai Church of God in Christ, 63 Wellington Street, Worcester, with Calling Hours from 9 a.m. until Funeral Services begin at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
