Ann Marie Nugent, 98, of Rochdale passed away January 27th, 2024. Ann was born in Worcester on December 10, 1925, the daughter of the late Cazimir “Charles” and Jozefa “Josephine” Stephania (Buraczyk) Kleiza and resided in the Worcester area for most of her life.

Ann was an outdoors type of gal, who loved the ocean, camping, and travel and had a great passion for gardening. She lived in California for 6 years where she would often take her children to the ocean and also made rock gardens. Her nickname was the Rock Lady. Annie was also an avid reader and loved to do embroidery. She loved to laugh, act silly, and tell family stories. She even wrote a few stories and had one of them published. Her favorite thing was holding new babies and spending time with her family, especially on all the holidays and birthdays.

Ann is survived by a daughter, Sharon A. Harmon and her husband, Wade of MA; four sons, Daniel John McGrail and his wife, Tysh of Rhode Island, Brian Francis McGrail and his wife, Anne of MA, John William McGrail and his wife, Tina of MA, and Thomas Edward McGrail and his wife, Jennifer of MA; eight grandchildren, Brandy, Dylan, Shannon, Thomas, Rose-Anne, Shonna, Tessa, and Jessica; and ten great-grandchildren.

Ann was predeceased by her first husband, John W. McGrail in 2018 and by her second husband, John E. Nugent in 2016; three brothers, Frank Kleiza in 1916, Charles Gerald Kleiza in 1993, and John Kleiza in 1944; three sisters, Mary Ellen Buell in 2007, Sophie Magdeline Prevett in 1995, and Statia Diane Haag in 1998. Ann was also predeceased by her son James Thomas McGrail in 2023, and a grandson, Shon Michael Mallett in 1991.
Ann will be missed by all who knew her.

Family and friends are planning to honor and celebrate Ann’s life by gathering in O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, February 1st from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. followed by her funeral service in the funeral home. Burial will be private for the immediate family in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton
