Subscription Update Obituary

Albert J. Bucharelli, 97, of Port Charlotte, FL, passed away on Saturday, June 4th, at HCA Florida Englewood Hospital, after a brief illness.

He leaves his beloved wife Dianne Bucharelli of Port Charlotte, FL: his three sons, Phillip G. Bucharelli and his wife Nancy of Southbridge, Albert A. Bucharelli and his wife Stacey of Antioch, CA, and Alan Bucharelli of Charlton; his daughter, Sharon Duhamel and her husband Mark of Charlton; step-son, David Whiston of Castak, CA; step-daughter, Karen Whiston of Port Charlotte, FL; his half-brother, Alfred P. Bucharelli of Oregon; his half-sister, Maerie-Ellen Bucharelli-Landers of Oregon; six grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; He was predeceased by his wife of over sixty-one years, Ruth F. Bucharelli, his sons Kevin Bucharelli and Brian G. Bucharelli and Brian’s daughter Jennifer Bucharelli, his brother Arthur Bucharelli, and his sisters Rita Christianson and Rose Marie Neville. He was born in Ware, the son of the late Alfred and Regina (Dupre) Bucharelli.

Albert attended Charlton High School then served in the US Army during World War 2, where he fought in Italy.
Albert was a master mechanic and owned a garage for many years. He later worked for various companies, Cutlers, Heritage Motors, Cross & Bracci, and then went to work for Jamesbury until he retired.
Albert was an avid golfer and worked at Heritage Country Club for many years as a starter. Al was married to his wife Ruth for 61 years until her passing in 2005. He later met and married Diane Armitage and they moved to Florida, where they were happily married for 17 years.

In recent years they did a lot of traveling with WWII veterans promoting a book (The Rifle), raising money to bring fellow WWII veterans back to where they fought 75 years later, him included.
We would like to give a special thanks to Andrew Biggio and all the people that helped make his last few years memorable and gave him closure.

A funeral Mass for Albert will be held at 10:00AM in St. Joseph’s Church, 10 H. Putnam Rd. Ext., Charlton. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Boston’s Wounded Vet Run, 60 Paris St. E. Boston, MA 02128 or online at www.theyfoughtweride.com. Daniel T. Morrill Funeral Home, 130 Hamilton St., Southbridge, is directing the arrangements.
