Subscription Update Obituary

     Albert Amadei, Jr., 85, passed away on November 23, 2017 at Shrewsbury Nursing Home after a long struggle with Parkinson’s disease. He leaves his devoted wife of 51 years, Barbara (Marr) Amadei, his loving son, David Amadei of Monson; his son-in-law, James Bigelow of Boylston; three granddaughters, Emily Amadei of Brimfield; Karen Peltier of Marlborough, and Cheryl Allain of Fitchburg; three siblings, Anita Amadei of Woburn, Arlene Amadei of Newton, and Arthur Amadei and his wife Lisa of Medfield; three nephews, as well as many beloved great-grandchildren. He was also predeceased by two stepchildren, Robert Barlow and Bonnie Bigelow. He graduated from Newton North High School in 1950, attended Pratt Institute in NYC as well as Boston Museum School of Art. His major interests in life included Art, Music and Street Photography. He exhibited his photographs in juried shows in both the Danforth Museum “New England Photographers” shows, as well as the Worcester Art Museum many years ago. He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served time in Korea. Albert worked for the U.S. Postal Service in Framingham for 34 years.

A calling hour will be held on Thursday, November 30th from 10-11 a.m. followed by a funeral at 11:00 a.m. in Hays Funeral Home, 56 Main St. Northborough. Albert’s burial with military honors will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Memorial donations may be made to American Parkinson Disease Association, 72 East Concord St. Boston, MA 02118.
