Paul T. Farrell, 84, of Auburn, passed away on Sunday, May 8, 2022 at the Rose Monahan Hospice Home in Worcester. Paul leaves his wife of 64 years, Lillian M. (Hapshie) Farrell; a daughter, Cheryl Dahlstrom, of Plymouth; a son, Thomas E. Farrell and his wife Kathleen, of Little Rock, Ark.; a daughter, Linda A. Revane, of Venice, Fla.; a brother, Richard J. Farrell, of Noblesville, IN; two sisters, Pauline C. Wambach of Worcester and Frances A. Phelan of Auburn; six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. His sister, Mary L. Quercio, predeceased him. Paul was born in Worcester, son of Thomas E. and Florence I. (Haggerty) Farrell. Paul attended South High School and then served from 1958 to 1964 on active duty in the U.S. Air Force. Paul was a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and worked primarily in the Main South and Downtown sections of Worcester, retiring after 27 years. Paul was an accomplished ten-pin and candlepin bowler. He also enjoyed golf, playing regularly at Clearview Country Club. His passion after retiring was tending to his yard and gardens. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and, especially, his “bride.” He was a member of North American Martyrs Church and the Knights of Columbus Pope John XXIII Council. The family would like to thank the Rose Monahan Hospice Home for their kindness and compassion during Paul’s illness. Calling hours are Wednesday, May 11, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Athy Memorial Home, 111 Lancaster St., Worcester. The funeral Mass will be Thursday, May 12, at 10 a.m. at North American Martyrs Church, 8 Wyoma Drive, Auburn. Burial will follow at Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. |
